The Power of Perspective and Attitude

Every now and then something crosses my e-mail inbox that makes me thankful that some of those inspirational messages or videos people pass around go "viral". Mind you, I've seen what feels like EVERY special message, notice, warning, and inspirational PowerPoint photo show. To be honest, I usually delete a lot of these kind of messages rather quickly, especially when they say I have to pass them onto five people for luck. Thankfully my family, friends, and colleague know this, and are VERY selective in what they send me.

A week or so ago my friend Tom sent a link to see a wonderful YouTube video of Jack Rushton. I decided to hit play during my lunch break and was so glad I did! It's easy to see that as a quadriplegic on a respirator Jack has his challenges and yet his attitude and sense of humor are contagious! I laughed out loud.

Jack reminds us that it's easy to get mired down in the "stuff of life". Maybe the company for which you work is struggling and cut backs are coming, health challenges may be weighing on your heart, or other family or financial pressures might be getting to you. We certainly can't control all the challenging things that come our way but the one thing we can control is our attitude.

He looks at what most would consider a bad situation from a great perspective. I hope you'll be encouraged and see some of your challenges differently too so you can move onto the goals you desire!!
